Jarabacoa is a town located in the central region of the Dominican Republic. It is the second largest municipality in La Vega Province.
Due to its high elevation in the interior, it has warm days and lower temperatures at nights during most of the year. Because of its climate, visitors have christened Jarabacoa as
"The City of Everlasting Spring." Bronze Door Mountain Villa is about 50 minutes from Santiago Airport & 2.5 hrs from Santo Domingo. One of the main touristic attractions is the natural environment of the area due to its location in the center of the Central Range. The views of the central mountain range are amazing. There are beautiful rivers and there are 3 spectacular waterfall locations within about 15 to 20 minutes of Bronze Door Mountain Villa. They are each unique and truly a sight to behold.
About 15 minutes' drive from Bronze Door Villa is the charming salto Baiguate waterfall, a beautiful cascade located in an astonishing canyon and, although it is not as impressive as the Jimenoa waterfall, it is a beautiful place to spend a relaxing and refreshing day in Jarabacoa. This waterfall is named after the river that forms it, Baiguate river. Access to the site is easy, there are steps down to the pool where you can explore the river and bathe at the base of the main falls.
Also about 15 minutes' drive from Bronze Door Villa head to this waterfront park, where two of the area’s rivers–the Jimenoa and the Yaque del Norte–merge and create mini pools amid the rocks. The spa-like bubbling sections allow groups of friends or family to safely relax in a circle. Bring your picnic and cooler to enjoy on the spacious grassy areas, or shop at the snack bar onsite. There are also horses for rent, ideal for family rides around this spacious green area.
About 20 minutes' drive from Bronze Door Villa, Salto Jimenoa Waterfall 1 is spectacular. 35 meters high it is one of the highest waterfalls in the Dominican. It is one of the two jumps of the Jimenoa river; the other is Salto Jimenoa Waterfall 2. This waterfall shows visitors one of the most beautiful sights that nature can offer in the Dominican. To see the falls, you will walk about 100 meters across a suspension bridge, a structure made of logs and ropes above the Jimenoa River.
